Changelog
What changed in each version of Zero. The newest version is at the top.
0.4.0
The first build offered for download.
The application
- A desktop application for Windows with its own installer. It installs for your user account and does not need administrator rights.
- A launcher with your recent projects, each shown with its picture.
- A project is a folder on your disk: Zero keeps its own data in a hidden
.zero/folder inside it, as plain files you can put under git.
Models and chats
- Connect Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and other providers with your own API keys, or a model server you run yourself, such as Ollama.
- Chats with full history, saved system prompts, and folders to keep them in.
- A chat can be attached to the document you are looking at.
Assistant and agents
- The Assistant panel runs chats with an agent that has its own instructions and the tools you grant it.
- A built-in agent ships with Zero, and you can add agents of your own.
Files and organizing
- Browse the workspace, edit text in the built-in editor, and preview Markdown and CSV.
- Attach external folders as read-only reference material.
- Tags and a configurable quick-access list.
Objects, schemas and views
- Objects with schemas that validate them and give each type an icon and a colour.
- Actions: buttons on an object that run a workflow with that object as input.
- Views: your own page, card, and panel layouts for the objects of a schema.
Workflows
- Workflows run the same sequence of steps over many inputs in the background, with a spending limit you set.
Media generation
- Image, video, speech, and transcription through the services you connect.
- Results are saved in the project as ordinary files.
